IHG Hotels & Resorts announced the official opening of Hotel Indigo La Paz Puerta Cortés, in La Paz, Mexico.

The 115-room Hotel Indigo La Paz Puerta Cortés offers magnificent views and white sand beaches, along with premium amenities, including a beach club, two restaurant concepts, a fully equipped gym, spa, an outdoor infinity and lap pool, as well as more than a thousand square meters of meeting and events space. Guests also have access to one of the top golf courses in the Baja Peninsula and Marina CostaBaja which offers boat tours, kayaking, snorkeling, and scuba diving.

La Paz was once the center of the pearling industry and is still known today as The Pearl of the Sea of Cortez. It is now a quiet town with a tight-knit community, where locals and guests alike can enjoy a reprieve from the hustle of nearby Cabo San Lucas. From vibrant street art to its Malecon that snakes the neighborhood’s waterfront, La Paz and its people share a close connection to the sea and land.

When you stay at a Hotel Indigo, you don’t just visit a place, you fully immerse yourself in it. Hotel Indigo La Paz Puerta Cortés tells the story of its neighborhood for guests to uncover through its architecture and décor. Sculptures within the hotel are inspired by the vibrant coral reefs found in the Sea of Cortez’s underwater paradise. While other design cues throughout the hotel nod to the desert and the Baja sun through use of lighting, color palettes and textures. Guests will also uncover the use of local materials, such as brass and red stone from Sierra de la Laguna as well as resin-finished floors that imitate the landscape of La Paz that’s waiting to be explored outside the hotel.

Following the recent opening of Hotel Indigo Guadalajara Expo, this latest opening is a step forward in the brand’s commitment of doubling its portfolio in the next five years, which includes expanding in Latin America, where IHG Hotels & Resorts has seen a growing appetite for more lifestyle brands amongst both consumers and developers.

Pascual Fernandez, General Manager at Hotel Indigo La Paz Puerta Cortés said: “Nestled between the Sea of Cortez and La Paz Bay, our beachfront resort offers unparalleled service in an idyllic destination. Hotel Indigo La Paz Puerta Cortés truly has something for every lifestyle traveler, from personal indulgence to elevated sporting experiences, it all blends in harmoniously through our exceptional interior design and landscaping. Hotel Indigo La Paz Puerta Cortés offers several options to experience authentic, local cuisine at Barco, a Baja Med concept restaurant, as well as Puerto, located inside the beach club featuring a pool bar and grab-and-go options.

The state of Baja California Sur has more than 10 natural protected areas and conservation sites, many of which are within the limits of La Paz, such as Balandra (dubbed the most beautiful beach in Mexico), the Archipelago of Espiritu Santo, and Sierra de la Laguna; but the most precious jewel of La Paz is the water itself. La Paz has one of the richest marine ecosystems on the planet and is home to a myriad of species, whales, sea lions, and turtles among them.
