More than 300 hospitality students from 17 hospitality schools attended the HSMAI Greater New York Chapter’s Virtual Global Intercollegiate Spring Conference on April 5–8, 2021, to network, learn more about the industry, and hear from renowned speakers. Coordinated by New York University, Pennsylvania State University, and St. John’s University, the conference featured an opening keynote from one of the most dynamic leaders in hotel real estate: Art Adler, president and founder of Adler Hotel Advisors LLC.

HSMAI Foundation Announces Mike Dimond 2021 Scholarship Program

The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Foundation excited to open the 2021 call for applications for its Mike Dimond Scholarship Program. This scholarship program was established to support degree-seeking students who are pursuing careers in hospitality sales, marketing, or revenue optimization.




The Next Disruptor scholarship

The contest includes three rounds at the end of which three finalists are invited to pitch their service or product to a judging panel of industry experts, faculty members, investors, start-up owners, and CEOs at Les Roches Campus in Crans-Montana (Switzerland).

Sommet Education and UNWTO: Hospitality Challenge Online Events

World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and Sommet Education launch Hospitality Challenge Pitch - a series of online discussions with UNWTO experts and tourism leaders, revealing some of the winners of the 'Hospitality Challenge,' the solidarity initiative created by the two partners. They will share insights on the state of tourism and hospitality, and the prospective solutions to restart tourism.

The Hospitality Challenge: Supporting the Hospitality Talents of Tomorrow

The initiative has received almost 600 applications from all around the world. The 30 top finalists will be granted a full-board scholarship for Bachelor or Master’s degree-level courses at 30 different hospitality programs. All of them are hosted by Sommet’s internationally renowned institutions specialized in Hospitality and Culinary Arts: Glion Institute of Higher Education, Les Roches, and École Ducasse.

CHART Hospitality Training LIVE Launches with Learning and Connections for Hospitality Trainers

The Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART) has launched Hospitality Training LIVE as a virtual learning series for restaurant, foodservice, and lodging training professionals. The event will take place on three consecutive Wednesdays in September from 1:00-3:30pm EST, and will feature 14 keynote, breakout, and interactive best practice sessions.

In partnership with Russell Partnership Technology, HSMAI offers the Certified in Hospitality Business Acumen (CHBA certification) which is a well-respected e-learning certification course that is recognized by hospitality leaders in more than 40 countries. The curriculum focuses on developing business acumen skills and strategic thinking.
