Hilton (NYSE: HLT) today announced plans to expand its presence in Italy, with the signing of three hotels under its Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand. With properties planned in Rome, Naples and Perugia, the hotels will join the existing 36 hotels operating under Hilton brands in the country, including the recently opened Ambasciatori Hotel Venice Mestre, Tapestry Collection by Hilton.

“Our development plans in Italy are exceptionally ambitious and we are thrilled to see strong owner appetite and consistent guest demand for Hilton’s brands in Italy, spanning from luxury to lifestyle, and full-service to focused-service,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Hilton. “This announcement marks a significant stride in Tapestry Collection by Hilton's growth in the country since its debut in 2022 and is a testament to the widespread demand for our brands throughout the country. We’re excited for the unique experiences these vibrant hotels will offer and look forward to collaborating with our valued partners to bring the Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand to life in Perugia, Rome and Naples.”

Spring House Hotel Rome Vatican, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Located in the Italian capital just metres away from the Vatican Museum, Spring House Hotel Rome Vatican, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, will be Hilton’s second Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotel in Rome, following the opening of Cosmopolita Hotel Rome, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, in 2022. With some of Italy’s most notable attractions a short walk away, including Saint Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel, the beautifully situated hotel will feature a restaurant and bar, wellness area, outdoor terrace and 73 contemporary guest rooms. Anticipated to be completed in early 2025, the hotel's development follows a franchise agreement with Spring House Srl, owned by Stefano Gabbani and his family, who have operated the property since 1969.

Palazzo Caracciolo Naples, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Naples will welcome its first Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotel through a franchise agreement with Ownco, which saw the opening of The Britannique Naples, Curio Collection by Hilton in 2020. The hotel – formerly a 13th century palace – was first home of Gioacchino Murat when he arrived in Naples prior to becoming King of Naples. With its Renaissance style and design still in full display today, the hotel will continue to welcome guests while renovations take place and is set to fully rebrand to Tapestry Collection by Hilton this spring. Renovations for the 145-room hotel will feature unique architectural decoration paying homage to both the region’s history and culture with towering ceiling heights, a cloistered courtyard and a monumental staircase. The stunning new addition to Hilton’s Italian portfolio will feature a restaurant and bar, as well as a gym and wellness area and is within walking proximity of the Mediterranean coast.

La Rosetta Hotel Perugia, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Located in the heart of Perugia, the capital of the Umbria region, the opening of La Rosetta Hotel will mark Hilton’s first hotel in the area. With portions of the structure originally built in the 15th century, the 74-guest room hotel boasts stunning hand-painted ceilings, wooden furniture and artwork adorning its many walls. With Perugia being one of Italy’s most popular tourist destinations in recent years, this announcement is reflective of Hilton’s increasing growth in regional cities across Italy. The hotel will be located in the city centre and will provide easy access to nearby historical landmarks as well as accessible connections to the wider Umbria region to cities including Assisi, Todi and Gubbio. Set for completion in the second half of 2025, the hotel follows a franchise agreement with a company owned by the family members of Simone Fittuccia and Rodolfo Mencarelli.

Hilton currently operates 36 hotels in Italy across its Waldorf Astoria, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Curio Collection by Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton by Hilton brands, and has a further 13 properties in its development pipeline.
